Laboratories and Computing Facilities

Department of Electrical Engineering at CIIT Attock has four modern laboratories. These labs are not only for academic purposes but also give the provision for advance research in the field of Electrical Engineering. The following labs are fully functional and equipped with the latest training aids to enhance the learning experience of the students.

i. Digital Logic Design/Microprocessor Laboratory

This lab is equipped with trainers designed to provide comprehensive hands-on training employing the latest state-of- the-art technology. Microprocessor Training System is a modularized approach to microprocessor concepts and applications. In addition to these trainers this laboratory is also equipped with a universal programmer used to program microcontrollers of different types as well as EPROMs, latest PIC-6 development boards, Electronic portable advanced laboratory trainers and latest FPGA’s of both families Vertix-6 and spartan-6. These facilities help students to perform laboratory projects in their respective field of interest. The Laboratory currently consists of VHDL simulation software, ISE design suite version 11.1, ModelSim and LabView.

ii. Electronics Lab

This laboratory is equipped with High Frequency Digital Oscilloscopes, Digital Arbitrary Waveform Generators, Curve Tracers and Advance Digital/Analog electronics trainers, Power supplies, Digital Multimeters and LCR meters. Function Generators are stable, low distraction and can generate signal in the frequency range up to 20 MHz

iii. Modeling and Simulation Lab

Modeling and simulation Lab plays a vital role in many areas of engineering, allowing engineers to reason about the expected behavior of a system without having to physically implement it. Simulation pervade much of electrical engineering, for example models of individual electronic devices, circuit simulation, network modeling, compression of speech/audio/image/video signals, design of biomedical devices, and modeling of physical systems for control purposes. The aim of this lab is to provide thorough grounding in aspects of constructing and applying models and their simulation using a well-known simulation packages.

iv. Physics lab:

The main objective of Physics Lab is to provide the students an environment where they can perform experiments, developing the basic skills and concepts of the Laws of Physics. It is equipped with Hall Effect Trainer E/M Apparatus, Planks Constant Apparatus, Disk Polarimeter, Ballistic galvanometer and spectrometers.

v. Computing Facilities

Despite having two general purpose Computer Labs at the main campus, there is computing facility of up to 40 latest computers in the new Computer Lab at the new campus. They are all connected with LAN, High Speed Internet, printing and data storage facility. This laboratory is open throughout the week and a Student Help Desk is always ready to provide friendly and expert assistance to make best use of resources.

vi. Sports Activities

CIIT Attock offers quality sports activities to all students. The sports program emphasizes health and enjoyment through recreation, fitness, competitions and sound physical habits. Its promote a healthy lifestyle, discipline.

Vii. Fully Furnished Lecture Halls

Our lecture rooms are fully furnished; Best arrangements are made for our students to maintain a stimulating and inspiring educational environment. Project and multimedia media facilities are provided in the lecture rooms.

Viii. Co-curricular Activities

Like other campuses, CIIT Attock has clubs and societies that not only provide best moments of student life but also stimulate creative juices into gratifying self- expression of the students. Some of societies are English Literary Society and Sports Club etc.

IX. Excellent Boarding facility

CIIT Attock is providing hostel facility to its students and staff members. The girls and boys hostels are both in best possible condition. The facility is available on first come first serve basis. Mess facility is available and is under strict quality control. Arrangements regarding recreation and entertainment have been made.

X. Transport facility

In CIIT Attock transport facility is being provided to all the interested students coming from inside and outside the city vicinity. The facility is also being offered to the Female Staff of the campus.

xi. Cafeteria

In CIIT Attock, a proper cafeteria is established where quality eatables are provide to faculty and students at reasonable prices. The facility is provided throughout the day without any break.

xii. Masjid

Prayers are held at our on-campus mosque that has a capacity for about 50 persons.

xiii. Security

In CIIT Attock it’s ensured that all security measures are strictly met. Security cameras are installed at various points to ensure a full security zone inside.
